Who should I contact if my toilet is draining away slowly?

If your toilet water seems to be draining away slower than normal then you may have an internal plumbing issue in your home.

How do I know if there is an internal plumbing issue with my toilet?

The first thing to check if you notice your toilet water is draining away slower than usual is whether the same thing is happening with any other toilets in your home. At this point you should also check your sink to see if the water is draining away at a normal speed.

If you have any other toilets in your home and they are draining away without any problems then it is likely to be an isolated issue with a single toilet.

It is also worth checking with your neighbours to see if they are having any similar issues.

My toilet won’t flush – what should I do?

If you are having issues when you try to flush your toilet and the water supply is interrupted, or there is no water when you flush the toilet then you need to check the water supply to your bathroom. Try switching on the taps in your sink or running your bath or shower. If you have checked the taps in your bathroom and there is no water coming out then you next need to check whether there is water in other parts of your home, is water coming out of your kitchen taps? We would also recommend checking with your neighbours to see if their water supply has been affected. If your neighbours are experiencing similar issues then it may be a temporary water interruption issue outside your property.
